Buddy Nelson Named Chaplain of Legacy Village of Jacksonville

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (March 21, 2018) – Buddy Nelson has been named chaplain of Legacy Village of Jacksonville, a premier senior living community serving the Jacksonville, Ala., area.

This position was designed to nourish the spiritual and emotional needs of the residents, families and team members at Legacy Village of Jacksonville. In this part-time position, Nelson will visit the community multiple times a week and organize weekly services for various denominations. Additionally, he will be available for ministerial needs and counseling.

Nelson brings over 40 years of pastoral experience to Legacy Village of Jacksonville. Nelson retired from his position as Pastor at Anniston First Baptist at McClellan, located in Anniston, Ala. Nelson currently serves as the Interim Pastor at Alexandria Baptist Church, in Alexandria, Ala.

The chaplaincy program was developed in 2016 at all 12 independent, assisted and memory care facilities throughout the Southeast that are managed by Cleveland, Tenn.-based Legacy Senior Living. Each facility has a chaplain who provides for ministerial needs that are in keeping with the residents’ faith. A company-wide chaplain coordinator helps to support and oversee chaplains at all facilities.
