Legacy Village of Jacksonville Raised $3,663 for Local Alzheimer’s Association Through Charity Golf Tournament

Second Annual Alzheimer’s Charity Golf Tournament a Success for Alzheimer’s Research

JACKSONVILLE, Ala. (March 7, 2019) - Legacy Village of Jacksonville raised $3,663.53 benefiting the local Alzheimer’s Association with its second annual Alzheimer’s Charity Golf Tournament.

Organizers call the tournament, which was held at the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail at Silver Lakes in Anniston/Gadsden, Ala., a success.

“The Annual Alzheimer’s Charity Golf Tournament is part of our senior community’s ongoing commitment to supporting Alzheimer’s research and our local Alzheimer’s Association. We are thrilled at the positive response from tournament attendees and look forward to hosting our third annual golf tournament later this year,” said Ashley Sanders Chauncey, director of marketing at Legacy Village of Jacksonville.

Tournament admission included green fee, golf cart, food and beverages, an awards luncheon, and door prizes. Golfers entered contests for long drive (men/women), close to pins (men/women), and hole in one.

Community co-sponsors included Back Forty Beer Co., Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Bama Budweiser of Shelby County, BR Williams and Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail.

In 2017 Legacy Village of Jacksonville launched the golf tournament in support of the Alzheimer’s Association and in honor of the many residents of The Harbor, its state-of-the-art memory care facility serving Jacksonville, Gadsden, Anniston and Oxford. The event underscores Legacy Village of Jacksonville’s commitment to serving with love, honor and respect for those who are experiencing Alzheimer’s disease and other memory loss disorders in northeastern Alabama.

“To walk alongside our residents and loved ones as they fight to overcome Alzheimer’s disease is a personal calling for us at Legacy Village of Jacksonville. It is an honor to serve them through this special annual event,” said Nicole Smith, executive director.

Proceeds benefit the Alzheimer’s Association. More information is available by contacting Ashley Sanders Chauncey at (256) 782-0960 or asanders@legacyjacksonville.net.
